And today’s drink is… Schöfferhoffer weizenbier. The alcohol free version, served with a slice of lemon is very refreshing on a warm day. The other type - with alcohol - makes you very drunk. The opposite of refreshing, in fact.

Springtime is in full bloom here and it’s tee-shirt weather, all the sweeter after a long, cold winter. With all the blossoms, flowers and leaves around it doesn’t feel like a busy industrial city at all. It seems like quite a few people in the neighbourhood (Das Kreuzviertel*) are into their classic autos. I put up a new slideshow in the gallery, so have a look at die hipsterwagen I found.
*Kreuzviertel roughly translates as ‘Cross’ Neighbourhood, probably due to the busy Kreuzstraße street that bisects it. Or maybe not.
New Apartment
Monday, February 16th, 2009So, the new place is ready - more or less. I had loads of stuff I wanted to write about, so I’ll just quickly say that the neighbourhood here is pretty cool, and that some German women make their men sit down to urinate - mad yokes, or what? (Just when I was starting to think that Germans were actually pretty normal people) More on that and other German weirdness later.
